Friend... Don't Forget About You

Somewhere between showing up for everyone else and trying to keep life moving, many women quietly disappear.

Not physically.

But personally.

They become the one everyone depends on. The one who remembers birthdays, checks on friends, prays for family, serves at church, meets deadlines, and somehow keeps everything together.

From the outside, she looks strong.

But inside?

She's tired.

Not the kind of tired that a good night's sleep fixes.

The kind that settles into your heart when you've been giving pieces of yourself away for so long that you can't remember the last time someone poured back into you.

Maybe you've felt that way.

I know I have.

Life has a way of convincing us that being busy means we're being faithful. That if we just keep pushing, eventually things will slow down.

But they usually don't.

There will always be another phone call to answer. Another responsibility to carry. Another person who needs you.

The question isn't whether people will need you.

The question is whether you're remembering that you matter too.

I've learned that caring for yourself isn't selfish. It's stewardship.

God entrusted you with one heart.

One mind.

One life.

And He never intended for you to spend all of it exhausted.

Sometimes we think slowing down means we're falling behind. In reality, slowing down often gives us the clarity we've been praying for.

It's in those quiet moments that we begin to hear God more clearly.

We notice the places where we've been carrying burdens that were never ours to carry.

We remember the dreams we quietly packed away.

We realize we've been surviving when God has been inviting us to truly live.

Friend, if you've been running on empty, this is your reminder to pause.

Take a walk without rushing.

Sit outside with your Bible and a cup of coffee.

Write down what's been sitting heavy on your heart.

Pray honest prayers instead of perfect ones.

Let yourself laugh.

Let yourself rest.

Most of all, let God meet you right where you are.

You don't have to have everything figured out.

You don't have to earn His love by staying busy.

You don't have to prove your worth by constantly giving more of yourself away.

Your value has never been found in how much you do.

It's found in whose you are.

And that changes everything.

So today, before you check on everyone else...

Check on you.

Not with guilt.

Not with pressure.

But with grace.

Because the woman God created you to be is worth caring for, too.

A Thought to Carry With You

Friend, the woman everyone else depends on deserves to be cared for, too. And God has never forgotten about her.
